HBO Max’s new ad-supported tier is now available, allowing users to watch the company’s vast catalog of TV shows and movies for $5 less, but with ads. The ad-supported tier caps streaming quality at 1080p and it does not include access to new same-day Warner Bros. movie releases, in case that matters to you.
The ad-supported tier costs $10/month, which compares to $15/month for no ads. You can also subscribe to the ad-supported tier for $100/year or $150/year for no ads.
HBO Max boss Andy Forssell said in a statement that the new ad-supported tier should help the streaming service reach a wider audience, because price is a major motivator.
